Ajoite is SUPER rare. Excited to have raw chunks of Ajoite in quartz. You will find traces of Ajoite along with veins of Malachite, Epidote, Piedmontite & Bornite. This comes from the famous Messina Copper Mines and was what they dumped when mining for the very high grade Ajoite in Quartz Clusters. A little like the original super sevens which were thrown out till someone came along and went WOW look at these.

It’s often blue-green in color. Ajoite is named after the locality where it was originally found in 1941, which is Ajo, Pima County, in Arizona.

However, it was not until 1958 that it was officially named Ajoite. Primary deposits of Ajoite can be found in Arizona, but it can also be found in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
